Sri Reddy clarifies on post against Udhayanidhi Stalin - Times of India

A while ago, Sri Reddy, who once challenged Raghava Lawrence to give her a role in a film, had the social media in a tizzy when she ‘posted’ how actor-politician Udhayanidhi Stalin had messed with her after promising her a chance in one of his films. Yesterday, however, Sri Reddy hurriedly called a press conference and claimed she had never posted any such thing, and that it was a fake profile that had put out this post. So, why did she take so long to clarify this? “I’m making my entry into politics, soon,” she said promptly, “So, I thought I should clear things from my side. But I can’t divulge any details about my political ambitions.”
She went on to assert that she had never met Udhayanidhi in person and that a few people from DMK had questioned her about the post after which she felt she should clear the air. “Initially, I took it lightly but when I realised that the post was going viral, I decided to talk about it. Though I had given many complaints about fake profiles in Hyderabad, necessary actions weren’t taken,” she added.
Her prime focus, Sri Reddy went on to say, is to “earn a good name as an actress in the Tamil film industry” and that her inspiration is “Jayalalithaa gaaru both as a politician and as an actress. If I start talking about her, I might break down, that’s the emotional connect I share with her persona,” she said.
“I have done many mistakes in the past — I want to lead an all-new life. I’m waiting for good films and notable characters. Now, I’m getting many offers, and I’m listening to stories. My dream is to work with all the talented directors of Tamil Cinema,” Sri Reddy added.

There were reports that she is living in penury and struggling for a square meal a day. But netizens were quick to point out on social media that she is travelling by swanky cars and using the latest gadgets. She clarified this with, “The car I use was registered in 2016/17 when I was not in the limelight. It’s my daddy’s property. Anyway, I must disclose my assets before election. So, no one can come up with anything against me. I’m a well-settled woman — I have a few properties, but those are not in Tamil Nadu and I don’t own any flat or plot here.”

As a south Indian, she has all the right to serve the people here, she said. “I’m more interested in the people here. I got invitation to contest for MP seat in Andhra, but I said no, I want to settle down in Chennai, and I want to do something for the poor people.”
The actress also said she’s eagerly looking forward to her projects in Tamil and Telugu. She explained, “Contrary to reports, the film Reddy Diary is not my biopic. I play the role of a CBI officer in it. I have Lawrence sir’s project, too, and the producers of my third film will make an announcement soon. In Telugu, I’m doing Climax. Another movie will have me in a special song and few scenes. The third one in Tollywood is expected to be the one with RGV gaaru. We are in talks, though a final call is yet to be taken.”
Sri Reddy then quickly moved on to praise Chinmayi and Tanushree Dutta for coming forward and calling out sexual predators. She said that the #MeToo movement will continue as long as people misuse aspiring actresses. “Actresses will approach producers for roles since they need projects. But producers shouldn’t cheat actresses by promising roles in their projects,” she said.
Of late, she has been seen in a few Tik Tok videos with politician Hari Nadar. She was also spotted at a few functions he had organised. Of this, she said, “We are planning to work on an album. He is currently busy with his political assignments.”
