The Washington State women’s basketball team came up short against #8 Oregon on Monday afternoon after leading by nine early in the third quarter. Ula Motuga and Jessica Clarke each finished with 11 points while Charlisse’s sister Krystal finished with 10 and led the team with six rebounds and five assists.
The Cougs entered halftime with a 37-32 lead over the Ducks, who currently own the nations longest winning streak. The Ducks would end up coming back and with 1:27 would take a 63-62 lead and then extend that to a 66-62 lead with just over :30 remaining. Krystal Leger-Walker would hit a three with :26 seconds remaining giving the Cougs hope. The Ducks answered back with a two of their own before a potential game winning three from Motuga bounced off the back of the rim with :06 seconds left in the game.
