Stop calling my boyfriend stupid, says Malaysian actress - AsiaOne

Local actress and social media personality Syifa Melvin (pic) is appealing to netizens to stop calling her boyfriend stupid, Harian Metro reported.

In her Instagram post, Syifa, 23, said they should encourage Safawi Rasid, 23, a Johor football player, to improve his game rather than condemning him.

“Stop calling Safawi stupid. You don’t know the whole truth! He did not simply speak like that. It was wrong for him to talk like that but he has his reasons. Also this was an old conversation, ” she said.

Syifa also chided some netizens for questioning Safawi for giving her a smartphone and a branded watch as birthday presents last month.

“Stop sharing stories... It’s a present and a birthday. Can’t differentiate between what is given and asked?” she said.

Johor’s Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim recently advised Safawi to focus on football after noting that the drop in his performance was due to marriage pressure from his partner whom he did not name.
