About six months ago, not too long after she and her on-again/off-again husband Dara Mir called it quits and filed for divorce a second time, “Shahs of Sunset” alumna Lilly Ghalichi, a Texas-bred socialite and lawyer turned reality TV personality turned fake eyelash tycoon, paid polemical comedienne Kathy Griffin a mite more than $14 million for a Bel Air mansion that she’s lickety-split flipped back on the market with a profitable price of $16 million.
Sequestered behind gates in a ritzy guard-gated enclave and positioned on nearly two-thirds of an acre with panoramic mountain and canyon views, the not-quite-13,500-square-foot mansion is a suburban, contemporary leaning take on a Mediterranean villa with eight bedrooms and ten full and two half bathrooms spread over three elevator-serviced floors. The listing is held by Josh Altman of The Altman Brothers at Douglas Elliman.
Designed for grand-scale living and entertaining, the hulking residence includes an enormous entrance hall large enough to host a serious shindig, adjoining formal living and dining rooms, and a vast great room that spills out to the backyard and comprises a family room, informal dining area and chef-accommodating kitchen with not just one but two center islands. Other creature comforts include a home office/library and a lavishly finished basement with an entertainment lounge, a glassed-in wine cellar and a screening room. Each of the guest bedrooms is en suite, while the primary suite pampers with a fireplace, two decadent bathrooms, two huge walk-in closets and an 1,100-square-foot private balcony.
Outside, the pancake-flat and simply landscaped backyard offers sweeping views over the surrounding mountains and incorporates sprawling terraces, lush lawns, a fire pit, a detached open-air pavilion and a 25,000-gallon infinity edge pool.
The always immaculately maquillaged Ghalichi, a self-described “Persian Barbie” who appeared on just one season of Bravo’s “Shahs of Sunset” series and founded the phenomenally successful Lilly Lashes brand, which reportedly generates $5-15 million in annual revenue, also owns a large home on almost 4.5 ocean-view acres in the rolling hills above Malibu’s Zuma Beach that she scooped up about a year ago for close to $5.5 million. And, last year, after she pledged her “everlasting love” on Instagram and before they split up for a second time, the now estranged couple splashed out $19.5 million for Lee Iaccoca’s sumptuous Bel Air compound that has since been deeded over entirely to Mir.
