Her career started in judo. At the same time, this particular athlete was working three jobs, trying to support herself along with her dog.

Once the UFC came around, Ronda Rousey completely changed her identity, becoming the face of the sport during its boom.

As we've seen in the past, that type of success can extend outside of the sporting world. That was the case for Ronda Rousey, who made a significant dent in the world of entertainment. It started with 'The Expendables 3' back in 2014, and she would continue that momentum, hosting 'SNL', along with gigs in 'Furious 7', 'Entourage', 'Mile 22' and 'Charlie's Angels.'

As if all of that wasn't enough, Rousey got a huge contract with World Wrestling Entertainment, and she made the most of her time as a sports entertainer. Rousey main evented WrestleMania, becoming one of the first females ever to do so.

These days, things are different Ronda. As of 2019, she stopped appearing in TV shows and films. Her WWE career was also put on the backburner. We'll take a look at why she disappeared from Hollywood and her motivation to get involved in acting in the first place.

Motivated By "The New"

Rousey's acting career, although brief, is one actors and actresses around the world can only dream of. She had the honor of hosting 'SNL', something that is a rarity, especially for athletes.

Not only that, she appeared in films alongside some major company, such as Vin Diesel, Mark Wahlberg, and countless others.

"I love Vin. He's adorable," Rousey said with a laugh. "He's one of those guys that you never know what they're really going to be like. You have this idea of what they are in the fictitious sense. He's a lot like all these other guys that seem like badasses from afar. They’re all like big teddy bears underneath."

For Rousey, her motivation to get into acting was a way to try something new. Rousey admitted, she loves to be a student, learning new things. That's exactly what the world of entertainment provided her with.

"That’s what motivates me the most, is learning things are new. I think that a lot of people doubt that anyone could master more than one thing. It’s easy to get stuck in, you know, you’re already good at this thing, you’re good at what’s comfortable."

"And it’s hard to try and learn something new with the world watching, because the first time you master something you do it in private. But I love those kind of challenges, and I love people doubting me."

Lots of fans expected Rousey to ride the wave but suddenly, it all came to a stop around the 2019 mark. Ronda basically disappeared from the film, along with WWE.

There's a major reason as to why. Let's take a look at what she's up to these days.

Starting A Family

Back in 2019, Rousey issued a statement that one of her next goals was to start a family alongside Travis Browne. Well, just this past April, she dropped a major bombshell on YouTube, announcing that she is in fact expecting.

She hasn't gone MIA completely, fans can still follow her life journey via YouTube. Rousey posts about her daily lifestyle, which features her new way of living, one that is dependent on finding sustainable resources to live by.

“A lot of people don’t know I was born in California, but from 3-9 we were in North Dakota,” she said. “A lot of my early memories were being able to run around and go into the back and pick raspberries. I always kind of wanted to be able to give my kids that off-the-grid living experience.”

She's definitely living that off-the-grid lifestyle these days. Given her many years in the spotlight with MMA, WWE, and acting, Rousey is embracing the new lifestyle, while starting a family.

Who knows what the future holds, maybe she returns to acting or WWE, heck, she might even be motivated to give the world of MMA one more try... well, maybe not but it is okay to dream.

Either way, Rousey will be just fine as she continues to manage her own future, on her own terms.

Given Ronda's past body of work, she deserves the right to pick her current path.
