Billie Eilish seems happier than ever as a blonde.
The “Lost Cause” singer, 19, chopped multiple inches off her platinum hair on Monday, showing off her new short ‘do on her Instagram Stories with a single scissor emoji.
In place of the long shag she’s sported since swapping her neon green roots for a lighter look in March, Eilish now has a bob with bowl-style curved bangs.
“Billie Eilish cut off her hair like she cut off her exes,” one fan quipped on Twitter, while another compared her fresh cut to that of another blond pop icon: “BILLIE EILISH WITH THIS MARILYN MONROE STYLE HAIR FOR THE MET GALA????????????? GOODBYE.”
But the Grammy winner, who will co-chair the star-studded fête next month, clearly had a different inspiration in mind when she went to the salon: her mother, who had a similar hairstyle when she was younger.
“I love it,” Eilish added of her new look on Instagram.
Before going blond — a process that took more than a month and required Eilish to hide the progress with a wig — the hair-color chameleon experimented with hues ranging from blue to black to purple.
The platinum shade is a perfect fit for her “Happier Than Ever” era, which has seen the star posing in pinup-style lingerie for British Vogue and sporting corsets on social media.
As for whether Eilish will have a full Marilyn moment at the Met, we’ll have to wait and see.
