Celebrity tributes pour in for Takeoff after the rapper is shot dead aged 28 - Cosmopolitan UK

Following the deeply sad news that rapper Takeoff (real name Kirshnik Khari Ball) was tragically shot and killed in a bowling alley in Houston, Texas, on 1 November, celebrities have shared moving tributes to the 28-year-old. Takeoff was best known for making up one third of the rap group Migos, alongside Quavo and Offset (who is married to Cardi B).

Reality TV star and business entrepreneur, Kylie Jenner posted an Instagram Story in memory of Takeoff, sending her thoughts and prayers to his loved ones, alongside a clip of the music video for 'HOTEL LOBBY' by Quavo & Takeoff. "So many prayers. God cover this family. Heartbreaking. Gone too soon. Devastating."

The father of Kylie's two children, fellow rapper Travis Scott, also posted in memory of Takeoff. Travis posted a black and white image of himself and Takeoff on Instagram Stories, with the caption: "Forever the space cadet. Forever the rocket, the most humble, the illest 4ever".

Rapper Drake shared a photo of himself and Takeoff on stage, with the words, "I got the best memories of all of us seeing the world together and bringing light to every city we touch. That’s what I’ll focus on for now 😔 rest easy space man Take 🚀"

Many other famous faces were quick to leave comments below Drake's post too, with DJ Khaled writing "We love you @yrntakeoff!" and Ty Dolla $ign adding "Long live our brother @yrntakeoff".

British rapper AJ Tracey also uploaded an Instagram Story, sharing with his 1.2 million followers that Migos' music has long played an important role in his life. "So sad, Migos songs soundtracked a lot of my favourite moments. May God have mercy on his soul."

Bad Boy Records mogul Sean Combs (better known as P Diddy) shared a photo of Takeoff on his Instagram Story and the words "REST IN PEACE KING":

Singer SZA tweeted shortly after the news of Takeoff's killing was made public knowledge: "This Takeoff shit so weird .. I’m genuinely creeped out by the world . I cried . God bless that man’s spirit his family and friends . SUCH A TALENTED SOUL .. ion understand."

And boxer, Chris Eubank Junior, also tweeted saying: "I remember Takeoff being a very down to earth, cool dude. Can't believe I'm having to say this again about another young Black star being killed for no reason, something really has to change in the industry."
