For the third game in a row, Princeton outshot a Top-20 opponent but fell short on the scoreboard in a 5-3 loss at No. 20 RIT.
Princeton posted a 36-20 edge in shots on goal in the game, and received goals from Liam Gorman, Jack Cronin and Matt Hayami. However, a two-goal lead early in the first period for RIT ended up being too much to overcome.

RIT jumped out to the 2-0 lead just over five minutes into the game thanks to a pair of goals 1:34 apart.
A familiar face got RIT on the board as Princeton grad Matt Kellenberger – who is playing a grad transfer year at RIT – fired home a low wrister from the point off a faceoff 3:34 into the game.
Shortly thereafter, Carter Wilkie forced a turnover and then scored an unassisted goal for a 2-0 RIT lead.
Liam Gorman answered with a power-play goal for the Tigers just past the midway mark of the period to cut the deficit in half. Strong puck movement along the wall led to a Noah de la Durantaye slap shot that Gorman deflected home while screening the goalie.

RIT countered with a PPG of its own before the end of the first period, needing just 0:08 for Kobe Walker to redirect a pass from the point to give RIT a 3-1 lead after the opening period.
Princeton clawed back within one goal early in the second period off Jack Cronin's fourth goal of the season 3:23 into the middle frame. Noah de la Durantaye had the primary assist with his shot from the point, the second helper going to Brendan Gorman for his feed from the half-wall.

Calvon Boots regained a two-goal lead for RIT with 4:14 left in the second period, slipping free at the far post to redirect a Wilkie pass.
In the third, a pair of Princeton players picked up their first career points to get the visitors within one. Senior Matt Hayami one-timed home his first collegiate goal, finishing a pass from freshman Kevin Anderson whose forecheck led to a RIT turnover deep in their own end.
Princeton and RIT will reconvene on November 26 at 5 p.m. to complete the weekend series.
