I’M A Celeb bosses are to stop flying stars’ friends and family to the jungle.
The ITV show has given the green light for campmates to head Down Under in November.
But for the first time it won’t be splashing out £100,000 to fly family members and pals there.
The production team has previously paid for return business-class flights to Australia and seven-night stays at Palazzo Versace hotel in Surfers Paradise.
This year there will be no familiar faces to greet celebs as they leave the jungle via a rope bridge.
The move comes amid reports that ITV is cutting costs as ad income plummets due to coronavirus.
The channel reported a 42 per cent fall in ad revenue in April as firms cut their spending.
A telly source said: “Having no friends or family flown out will be a big blow to celebrities.
“Producers have even involved them in recent years by taking them into the jungle in the final days to create heartfelt scenes.
“There are early plans to film video calls to capture celebs having their first chats with loved ones.
“But they might have to make do with hosts Ant and Dec when they come out.”
The series averages more than 10million viewers per episode.
On Saturday night ITV said it was too early to discuss plans for the show.
