But when old friend Christian Covington, who played defensive tackle for the Bengals last season, penetrated on the next snap, disaster on Cincinnati's third turnover the game. But when Burrow had to climb the ladder away from the rush, he couldn't get enough on his throw to tight end C.J. Uzomah and cornerback Chris Harris picked it off. It was Burrow's second interception of the day, but the first one should have been a 71-yard touchdown pass.
That was the kind of day it was for the Bengals. A day they couldn't overcome the loss of pair of injured starters on the offensive line, center Trey Hopkins and right tackle Riley Reiff. Mixon couldn't take advantage of the NFL's worst run defense with just 54 yards on 19 carries as Burrow got sacked a season-high six times.
