Where is the fun in running the world’s most valuable car company if you can’t engage in some juvenile humor?

Now advertised on Tesla’s website is a pair of red satin, gold trim “Tesla short shorts.” Not content with a mere double entendre, Elon Musk hits at least three.

The most obvious is the taunting of those who have been unfortunate enough to bet against his company’s surging stock, which as of Tuesday morning valued Tesla at over a quarter of a trillion dollars. “Enjoy exceptional comfort from the closing bell,” reads the description.

Then there is the price, which goes out to three decimal places to help you get the joke: $69.420. Mr. Musk falsely announced in August 2018 that funding was secured for a takeover of the company at $420 a share, drawing regulatory action. The shorts carry a gold trim inscription of the company’s four models, which spell S-3-X-Y. The first two digits of the price appear to be in keeping with that puerile sensibility.

Whether or not you think $69.42 is fair for a pair of shorts, the offer is laughably Tesla-like—only available at a premium. Currently out of stock for direct purchase, you can buy them on eBay for $99.69 plus $14.20 shipping.
