It’s official: I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here 2020 is a go – but there could be some major changes on the horizon for the flagship show’s 19th series.
For nearly two decades, I’m A Celebrity has been sending a team of celebrities over to Australia to throw them in the jungle and test their endurance for three weeks.
In exchange, they get put up at a five-star hotel at the end of it with their family, and might even get a crown and sceptre for being voted king or queen of the jungle.
But while the series has been confirmed by ITV bosses to go ahead, this might all change this year because of, you guessed it, coronavirus.

While only the return has been confirmed so far, there have been plenty of rumours to chew over about what the future could hold for the cast and crew.
So, what do we know so far? We here at Metro.co.uk have gathered what’s out there as we now patiently wait for its return.
…. Is it Autumn yet?
Who is in the line-up of this year’s I’m A Celeb?
Vernon Kay has reportedly signed a £250,000 deal to take on this year’s series, which will see him go head-to-head with wife Tess whose hosts Strictly on BBC One at the same time.
Jessie J is another one of the stars said to have been approached for this year’s series, as well as footie pundit, Paul Merson.
But the biggest jewel in the crown would be one of the biggest names in the world this year – Mrs Big Cat Rescue herself, Carole Baskin.
After retiring this year, boxer Conor McGregor was also tipped by bookies to head into the jungle to be crowned champion there as well.
The Tiger King star has been said to have been offered a huge money deal for her involvement in this year’s show.
She’s such a draw that Jason Manford said he’ll sign up if she’s officially on board.
Where will I’m A Celebrity be filmed?
I’m A Celebrity is typically filmed on the Gold Coast of Australia, but if travel bans are still in force by the time the show starts, there may be a relocation.
One of the ideas is far from the tropical heat of the normal jungle camp, and instead the team are thought to be looking into the remote islands of Scotland as an alternative.
It could mean a major shift for the show’s format, with the cast likely to be staying in a mansion or castle if this is what ends up happening.
Though we can’t deny a spooky series is definitely eye-catching.
How will lockdown rules affect I’m A Celeb 2020?
In order to keep everyone safe, a two-week quarantine period is reported to be enforced for contestants to ensure they don’t bring coronavirus into the camp.
On top of that, it appears likely that family members will not be allowed to join them Down Under this year, in order to minimise the amount of people on set.

This could be a bit of a tough one, considering the number of emotional reunions made as the celebs cross the bridge back to reality.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here returns later this year on ITV.
