The funniest celeb commercials, from Ja Rule's low-budget ad to Taylor Swift for Apple Music - USA TODAY

Celebrities can persuade us to buy almost anything – from laundry detergent and insurance to food and the latest tech.

We've seen Drake hilariously working out to Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" in his 2016 Apple Music ad; Betty White transforming into a football star after taking a bite of a Snickers bar; and Sofia Vergara teaching employees how to dress sexier in her 2014 Kmart commercial.

Commercials packed with celebrity cameos can be hilarious, clever and definitely worth the watch. Even if we don't buy their products, at least we still get a good laugh. We rounded up some of the funniest, wackiest celebrity ad spots:

Celebrities: Kanye, Banksy, Drake and more stars take action following George Floyd's death

Ja Rule, Papa Cristo's Greek Grill (2020)

Ja Rule is going viral for a reason other than Fyre Festival. The rapper and festival co-organizer hilariously obsesses over the Los Angeles restaurant Papa Cristo's menu in this low-budget commercial. The rapper attempts to pronounce his favorite delicacies, from oktapodakia to avgolemono soup, ultimately saying "you can't even pronounce the food it's so (expletive) good."

Jason Momoa, Rocket Mortgage (2020)

The buff "Game of Thrones" actor looks unrecognizable without his biceps and abs – and apparently his hair, too. Momoa gets a little too comfortable at home in this 2020 Super Bowl commercial for Rocket Mortgage, as he strips off his prosthetic muscles and wig. Wife Lisa Bonet makes a cameo appearance at the end, helping her husband lift some not-so-heavy weights.

Kristen Wiig, Pizza Hut (2017)

Wiig puts her "Saturday Night Live" skills to the test in this 2017 commercial, as she plays every man, woman and child in America who enjoys pizza in the "Pizza Hut" ad series.

'Saturday Night Live': Kristen Wiig, Tina Fey, Martin Short return for Mother's Day show

Leslie David Baker, Cheerios (2020)

Leslie David Baker might not have gotten the "be happy" memo. Just like his "The Office" character Stanley Hudson, Baker isn't rocking a smile, even while indulging in (and enjoying) some Honey Nut Cheerios.

Snoop Dogg, The General Insurance (2020)

Snoop Dogg shows how low you can go in this car insurance ad, as he drives around in a magenta low rider singing the catchy jingle with The General. "You drop the rates, I drop the beats," the rapper says.

Snoop Dogg: 'I can't stand to see this punk in office': Snoop Dogg on voting for the first time in 2020

One Direction and Drew Brees, Pepsi (2012)

Harry, Zayn, Niall, Louis, Liam and … Drew Brees? The NFL quarterback becomes the sixth member of One Direction in this 2012 Pepsi commercial. The boy band and the football player make for an unlikely collaboration as they try to prove who is more accomplished and deserves a can of the soft drink.

Jennifer Aniston, Smartwater (2012)

The "Friends" star will do anything to get Smartwater to "turn into a virus" – or as she meant to say, "go viral." Aniston plays with puppies, brings in dancing babies and talks to a red parrot to try and get Smartwater to go viral in this hectic yet hilarious commercial.

Gordon Ramsay, Cardi B, Rebel Wilson, Anthony Hopkins, Amazon Alexa (2018)

Amazon's Alexa has lost her voice, and it's up to this group of celebrities to take on her job. Gordon Ramsay, Cardi B, Rebel Wilson and Anthony Hopkins hilariously attempt to virtually assist Amazon users in this Super Bowl LII commercial.

Bryan Cranston and Tracee Ellis Ross, Mountain Dew (2020)

The "Breaking Bad" and "Black-ish" stars team up to perform a parody of "The Shining" in this Mountain Dew Zero Sugar advertisement. Turns out, the sugarless refreshment isn't nearly as scary as Jack Nicholson's iconic character.

Mariah Carey, Hostelworld (2018)

Divas can be fabulous anywhere – including at a hostel. Mariah Carey is pleasantly surprised when she accidentally books a private stay in a hostel, rather than a hotel. She's so excited she ends up performing at the hostel's bar – a surprise for all the star-struck employees.

Taylor Swift, Apple Music (2016)

It's Taylor Swift vs. the treadmill, as she rocks out to Drake's "Jumpman" to (almost) complete her cardio workout. Swift's time on the treadmill ends in a face plant as she raps along to the song. Drake got his Swift song fix in another Apple Music ad in 2016, jamming out to the singer's "Bad Blood" while lifting weights.

It's 'so upsetting': Taylor Swift calls out 2020 census for 'brutal' transgender erasure

Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy, Nestle Nesquik (2013)

"iCarly" star Jennette McCurdy and pop star Ariana Grande starred as the eponymous "Sam and Cat," playing a pair of bickering roommates on the Nickelodeon sitcom until 2014. The two actresses are at their shenanigans again in this Nesquik ad, competing to photobomb each other with the iconic Nesquik Bunny's ears.

Kristen Bell, Enterprise (2017)

Kristen Bell is a mom on the go, but that doesn't mean she wants a mom van in this rental car commercial, one in a series of ads featuring Bell. For the "Frozen" actress, the search for the perfect car doesn't include all the amenities parents might want for their kids.

Carrie Underwood, Vitamin Water (2008)

Is Vitamin Water Carrie Underwood's secret to her award-winning voice? The country singer manages to tame a rowdy horse with a calming song, transforming into a horse whisperer after just one sip of the drink.

Celebrity quarantine transformations: Ryan Reynolds, Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa and more
