Billion-dollar finance firm hires celebs to headhunt prime job candidates - Page Six

Execs at a top finance firm have come up with an ingenious way to beat the current red-hot competition for talent, Page Six has learned: getting celebrities to do their hiring for them.

We’re told that billion-dollar fund Liquidity Group has been shelling out cash on celebrity message site Cameo, getting a whole host of stars to encourage the company’s favorite applicants to take a job there.

In one video, “Newman” from “Seinfeld,” Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, “Vito” from “The Sopranos” and “Tiger King’s” Carole Baskin all — addressing the potential hire by their first name and calling them, for example, the “best due diligence analyst” in their hometown — implore them to join the firm.

Another personalized clip features Kevin from “The Office,” Stewy from “Succession” and Kermit the Frog.

Apparently the links appear as a surprise in the wunderkinds’ inbox.

Given that Cameo messages from Baskin start at $250, Brian Baumgartner (a.k.a, “Kevin”) at $195, Wayne Knight (a.k.a “Newman”) at $330 and Google founder Wozniak at a cool $600, it’s substantially pricier than an offer letter from the HR department.

But an industry insider tells us that its a cut-throat market for quality hires right now, fueled in part by the work-from-home culture, which lets companies look further afield for talent, and which allows for all kinds of sweet packages.

“People are looking for more than just a good salary,” they said, “They’re also looking at who will let them work from home indefinitely and a range of other new perks.”

It seems Liquidity is hoping the celeb scheme will give them a competitive edge.
