Epic, long, story-driven masterpieces like Final Fantasy and Resident Evil have gone down in the history books as some of the best games ever created—and for good reason; their in-depth stories and long runtimes are able to transport gamers to new worlds. But sometimes players are just looking for something lighthearted, fun, and carefree.
Not every gaming experience needs to be a 20-hour adventure. In fact, there are some phenomenal games that can be completed in a single weekend, a single night, or even in a few minutes. Here are 10 wonderfully short and sweet video games on the Switch, and, with the Nintendo e-store holding daily sales, it's easy to pick up some of these titles on the cheap!
10 Say No! More (Play Time: 1-1.5 hrs) - 73
The corporate world is demanding, and almost everyone feels tired and fed up at times with the way workers are treated. Say No! More is a game that celebrates standing up to demeaning office culture and teaches gamers to just say no!
The hilarious game follows the main character, a new intern at a large company, as they're pushed over the edge by pushy co-workers and mean bosses. The gameplay is sort of like an on-rails shooter—but the primary weapon here is to shout NO!—filled with hilarious dialogue and awesome retro-styled graphics.
9 Five Nights at Freddy's (Play Time: 2-3 hrs) - 75
Five Nights at Freddy's is a terrifying yet oddly hilarious horror game that sees players take the role of an overnight security guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, a Chuck E. Cheese-like restaurant filled with animatronic entertainers. However, at night, the animatronics come to life with nefarious intentions...
The beauty of Five Nights at Freddy's is that the game manages to be both absolutely terrifying and hysterical at the same time, nostalgically playing on the secret fear everyone had of the Chuck E. Cheese robots.
