Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in mid-April 2021, starting with this controversial couple… On April 21 — after years of trying to make their marriage work following a 2016 cheating scandal — Jana Kramer announced that she and Mike Caussin are finally going their separate ways. According to a People magazine source, the former professional football player "cheated and broke her trust again." Said the insider, "After fighting for the marriage for so long, she's come to terms with the realization that his patterns were never going to change." Echoed an E! News source, "Mike broke her trust yet again. He had so many chances to make this right and she tried and tried, but she was really left with no choice." The "One Tree Hill" alum broke the news in a lengthy Instagram post, writing, "'It's time.' As I try to make sense of a reality I never wanted to believe could be possible again, those words have now become a reality. I've fought y'all. I've loved hard. I've forgiven. I've put the work in. I've given everything I have, and now I have nothing else to give. 'It's time.' Please know that I still believe wholeheartedly in marriage, love, and rebuilding. I just can't fight any longer. It's time to heal. Thank you for all the love, heart, and support, in many ways you have fought on this journey alongside me, and for that I am grateful. I'll always encourage you to continue the good fight, but you can't fight it alone." Jana and Mike briefly split in 2016 when his infidelity and issues with sex addiction first came to light. They reconciled the following year and went on to chronicle the ups and downs in their relationship on their "Whine Down" podcast and in their book "The Good Fight: Wanting to Leave, Choosing to Stay, and the Powerful Practice for Loving Faithfully" … which debuted less than a year ago. The joint memoir centers around Jana's decision to stay with Mike in spite of his past infidelity. Multiple media outlets report that the singer-actress, who shares two children with the former professional athlete, has filed for divorce.

On April 16, Kim Kardashian and Maluma sparked romance rumors when they posed together at a party celebrating the grand opening of The Goodtime Hotel in Miami. But according to a Page Six source, there's "nothing romantic" between them: They're "just friends" who have "lots of mutual friends in common." A second insider noted that the "Hawái" chart-topper is "happily single." (He hasn't been linked to anyone major since Winnie Harlow in late 2019 following his split from girlfriend of two years Natalia Barulich.) A few days later, Page Six reported that, according to a third source, men were "trying to shoot their shot" with Kim during her night out in Miami, but she "wasn't paying it any mind and just loved having a fun night out with old friends." Yet another source claims that famous men are lining up to date the reality star in the wake of her recent split from Kanye West. "People are reaching out through mutual friends and people that she's worked with to set her up with everyone from royal family members to A-list actors to athletes to billionaire CEOs. … People are also trying to reach out to her via DM," said the source, adding that the mother of four is "not looking for anyone right now" or "to jump into anything" but is "keeping an open mind." The insider went on to say that Kim is "not on the hunt to date anyone in a specific field" and hopes that her next relationship will come about "organically." When she is ready to date, she'll reportedly look for "someone who values family first and foremost because she's a mom of four kids" and "the qualities most important to her are someone who values family, is supportive, fun, romantic, enjoys the simple things and is also hardworking." She also wants "someone who values privacy" and "wouldn't want anyone to be with her for the spotlight." She reportedly "needs to be with somebody that she would look for as her best friend" but is "just not there yet with anybody." Kanye, meanwhile, wants to date "an artist and a creative person" so "they can speak the same language to each other," said another Page Six source. On April 18, Page Six reported that, according to yet another source, the rapper is "super annoyed" by the narrative — encouraged by the Kardashians' "huge spin machine" — that it was Kim who pulled the plug on their marriage. "Actually it was him saying for a year that they have nothing in common except the kids and he wanted out," said the insider. "She pulled all the stops to try to save the marriage. … [He let her file for divorce] first in order to give her dignity."

On April 21, People magazine reported that, according to a source, Jennifer Lopez "insisted on" ending her relationship with Alex Rodriguez because there were "too many issues that are unresolved" between them. "She has been pretty miserable and didn't think it was in her best interests to stay with Alex," said the source, adding that the singer-actress felt she could no longer fully "trust" the former professional athlete in the wake of his recent cheating scandal. A second source said of the rumors Alex was unfaithful, "Whether or not he has cheated doesn't matter. She won't tolerate the fear of it in the air between them." A third source added that the coronavirus pandemic exacerbated issues between the pair and that it became "difficult to keep that special spark when they saw each other every day." The first source also described the split as "inevitable," noting that "it's not a good situation" and that J.Lo and A-Rod are "especially sad" for their kids because "they are all so close." (They each have two children from previous relationships.) Still, Jennifer is said to be "doing well" amid the breakup. "[She] has been in these difficult situations before. She is not one to sit around and cry," said the first source. The superstar is reportedly leaning on ex-husband Marc Anthony in the wake of her split from A-Rod: "Jennifer and Marc have a great relationship. Having him around while she has had to work abroad has been very comforting," said the insider. (Jennifer has been shooting "Shotgun Wedding" in the Dominican Republic.)
On April 21, Page Six reported that, according to multiple sources, Katie Holmes' hot and heavy romance with Emilio Vitolo Jr. has started to cool seven months after they were first linked. "Katie has a lot of big priorities in her life — she's a single mom, her daughter always comes first and things were moving very fast," said one source. Echoed a second source, "Katie has a lot going on and Emilio is busy working at his restaurant with his dad." The actress has reportedly been away from New York City working on an upcoming film, which has limited her ability to spend time with her beau.
On April 20, The Daily Telegraph reported that Zac Efron and his girlfriend of nearly a year, Vanessa Valladares, are "no longer dating." The following day, his pal Kyle Sandilands confirmed the news on "The Kyle and Jackie O Show." Said the Australian radio host, "I can also confirm after speaking with him yesterday. It's only recent, but not like yesterday recent. But they've gone their separate ways. … No drama, but it's done."
Does Billie Eilish have a new boyfriend? In mid-April, the Grammy winner was snapped looking cozy with actor Matthew Tyler Vorce during an outing in Santa Barbara, California. The pair were photographed walking with their arms wrapped around each other, and at one point, Billie appeared to rest her head on her rumored beau's shoulder. (See photos here.) She's yet to address her relationship status.
On April 21, People magazine confirmed what fans have long suspected: Pete Davidson and Phoebe Dynevor are a couple. "Pete is telling friends he's serious about her," said a source, adding that the pair are "really into each other."
Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde are still going strong. Us Weekly reported on April 20 that, according to a source, they've "been spending time in London," where "she's been staying at his place." Added the source, "They're trying to be as low-key as possible and go to places that aren't too crowded." The couple, who've been spotted out and about by fans, reportedly "seemed very couple-y and cuddly with one another" during one recent outing.
Us Weekly reported on April 20 that, according to a source, Kacey Musgraves' connection with her new boyfriend, Dr. Gerald Onuoha, "is off the charts." The pair are reportedly "so happy [they] found each other," though the country music star is "trying not to get too far ahead of herself" as their romance — which has "the potential to go a very long way," according to the insider — is still in the early stages.
During an appearance on the April 15 episode of the "Hollywood Raw" podcast, Dale Moss said that he and Clare Crawley are currently "in a good place" and "focused on one another" — though he declined to comment on whether or not they're engaged again after briefly splitting earlier this year amid reports he was unfaithful. The cheating rumors weren't the reason why they pressed pause on their romance, he claimed: "That was never a conversation — even when we went through our split," he said. "It wasn't even a thing. It was never even a topic of conversation." Still, the rumors "sucked." Said the male model, "When things are going at your character, and something you're completely against, those are the hardest things to handle." For now, the former stars of "The Bachelorette" aren't rushing to publicly label their relationship. "We've never hid throughout this entire time we've been around each other," said the former professional football player. "We are definitely taking time, and spending time together. … When the time is right, we will definitely talk about [where we stand]. … We're keeping things private and that's working for us — in time we'll speak about that together."
In other Bachelor Nation love news… On April 19, a source told Us Weekly that Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell are "on non-speaking terms after she learned about him lying about being in communication with another girl" earlier this month. "He was in Atlanta this weekend, which is less than an hour away from where Rachael resides, and he has not reached out to her to make amends or apologize. As far as she's concerned, what they had is in the past now," said the source. In early April, it seemed as though the former "The Bachelor" couple had reconciled.
In still more Bachelor Nation love news… "Bachelor in Paradise" co-stars Raven Gates and Adam Gottschalk tied the knot in front of 20 guests at The Olana in Dallas on April 16. "We've been waiting for this day for a long time! … I'm so happy to get married to someone I love so much," the bride told People magazine, which published exclusive wedding photos. "We're just so excited that it's finally happening. And we're going to have a wonderful future together," added the groom. The duo, who got engaged in mid-2019, postponed their wedding date multiple times amid the coronavirus pandemic.
During an interview with Esquire that debuted online on April 15, Justin Theroux opened up about the current state of his relationship with ex-wife Jennifer Aniston: "I would say we've remained friends," he said, noting that they "don't talk every day" but "call each other," chat on FaceTime and text. "Like it or not, we didn't have that dramatic split, and we love each other," he said. "I'm sincere when I say that I cherish our friendship. We can not be together and still bring each other joy and friendship. Also, she makes me laugh very, very hard. She's a hilarious person. It would be a loss if we weren't in contact, for me personally. And I'd like to think the same for her. … I think that when you get good at relationships — and here I am, single — if you love the person the same way you loved them in the relationship, it would behoove you to love them the same way out of the relationship." He also shut down the rumor that they split because she wanted to live in Los Angeles and he wanted to live in New York City: "That's a narrative that is not true, for the most part," he said. "Look, people create narratives that make themselves feel better or simplify things for them. That whole 'This person likes rock 'n' roll, that person likes jazz. Of course!' That's just not the case. It's an oversimplification." He went on to say that he wants "partnership" but isn't dating. "All the avenues to dating are completely shut," he said, adding that he's "never" used a dating app and isn't interested in sliding into someone's DMs. "Sounds a little old-fashioned, but I actually like to get to know someone," he said. Justin then dished on his parents' divorce, which he described as somewhat traumatic. "Early on, I went into relationships very cautiously," he said. "I had to navigate, and still have to navigate, how to have relationships and communicate and be an adult. … You meet different kinds of women in your life, who teach you different lessons about what gives you the best chances of success with being satisfied in a relationship. … The only relationship where I think codependency should be totally encouraged is with a dog."
During an interview with People magazine that debuted online on April 21, Julianna Margulies said that she and George Clooney had "a crush on each other" while portraying a complicated married couple on "ER" in the late '90s. "With George and me, it was so organic," she said, gushing that the actor "could not have been kinder or sweeter" and "treated everyone the same" regardless of their position on the hit medical drama. George eventually became a "mentor" to Julianna: "I followed and watched how he conducted himself on the set. When you create an environment that people feel safe in, then you do your best work. And George taught me that," she said. "I felt so safe with him. I mean, I never thought, 'Well, why would I be in the bathtub and he's coming in?' I was like, 'OK, I'll be in the bathtub. Yeah, great.'"
During an April 13 interview with Us Weekly, Trisha Yearwood admitted that her relationship with Garth Brooks isn't always easy. "We're both very independent people who run our own ships. And sometimes when two people are driving two big ships, it can be difficult," she said. The country music superstar went on to detail how the coronavirus pandemic impacted their marriage of 15 years: "Before this past year, we were together all the time. I mean, we really are a couple who got married to be together, so we don't spend that much time apart anyway," she said. "So it wasn't a huge change, but it was enough that there was really nowhere to go. … I think it was kind of navigating; how do we stay alphas, stay independent, do our own thing, feel like we run our own lives, but be a couple. It's a balance where sometimes one person is running the ship and sometimes the other person is, and sometimes you're going to butt heads." Their relationship is "better now than ever," she claimed. "[Before Garth] I was always the person in relationships when things got difficult; I was really happy to just bail. I was good at that," Trisha said. "So in this situation, that's not an option because this is the love of my life, you know? So you sit down, and you talk it through and, and that gets you better when you get to the other side."
During an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" that debuted online on April 20, Vanessa Hudgens revealed how she met her boyfriend of several months, Cole Tucker: "[We] met on a Zoom meditation group. Very random, yes. … Zoom, you've got to love it," she said, adding that the professional baseball player is "just kind of perfect" for her and that she's "really" happy.
On the April 19 episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Riz Ahmed revealed he proposed to his wife, writer Fatima Farheen Mirza, over a game of Scrabble during a picnic in a park amid the coronavirus pandemic. "She loves a bit of Scrabble, so we were actually playing Scrabble and I did that corny thing where I stole all the correct letters up front and spelled out 'Will you marry me?'" recalled the Oscar-nominated actor. "She looked up and was like, 'You're joking.' Maybe the way I proposed didn't help because she's a novelist — she's amazing with words."
On April 20, Lil Wayne sparked rumors he'd secretly married off-and-on love Denise Bidot when he tweeted, "Happiest man alive! Today is the beginning of our forever." He signed the tweet "The Carters," indicating the joyous message had at least something to do with his family.
On April 16, Danica Patrick revealed on Instagram that there's a new man in her life: Freshly co-founder Carter Comstock. "Beach workouts are fun for one, but better with you," she captioned a slideshow of photos including a solo selfie and a shot of her new beau pecking her on the cheek. Carter is the first man to whom the retired race-car driver has been linked since she and Aaron Rodgers — who's now engaged to Shailene Woodley — split in mid-2020. On April 21, Us Weekly reported that, according to a source, Danica and Carter "were set up" by the co-founders of a wellness brand they're both investors in. "They took their relationship slow for four months and decided to be exclusive in April," said the source, adding that Danica is "very happy."
In mid-April, Madison LeCroy revealed on Instagram that she's officially off the market. After a fan commented on a slideshow of photos of the blonde beauty joking that Alex Rodriguez is "on his way" and "coming for you" following his recent split from Jennifer Lopez, she fired back, "I have a boyfriend!" (The "Southern Charm" star was at the center of a cheating scandal involving the former professional athlete.) So far, Madison has kept her new beau's identity under wraps. In early April, an anonymous source told Deux Moi that the blonde beauty and co-star Whitney Sudler-Smith were seen kissing "at a very popular bar in Charleston" the previous week, but Madison told Page Six on April 15 that she and Whitney are "old friends" and that she wasn't sure "why this is even a story." She also said of A-Rod and J. Lo, "I wish them the best."
In other "Southern Charm" news… On the April 20 episode of Dear Media's "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast, "Summer House" star Paige DeSorbo said that she and "Southern Charm" star Craig Conover "are a thousand percent not dating." Said the brunette beauty, "Craig and I have known each other for years because he came to the ['Summer House'] house like, two years ago. So we've always gotten along. We've always been friends. We have, like, very similar personalities. But we are not romantically involved or anything. … I really swear to you, like, we're just friends." Earlier this month, an anonymous source told Deux Moi that the pair were spied "holding hands" at a club in Charleston. "People saw whatever they saw, but like, it was blown way out of proportion," Paige said on the podcast, noting that she and Craig were part of a big group during their headline-making Charleston outing. "No one is like, anyone's boyfriend or girlfriend, and Craig … has a girlfriend — or, like, whatever his relationship status, [it's] none of my business. But I would never disrespect a girlfriend or anything." (It's unclear if Craig and his most recent girlfriend, Natalie Hegnauer, are still an item.) Continued Paige, "Craig is very respectful; he would never cheat on a girlfriend — and he certainly would never cheat on a girlfriend with me. So none of that happened. … Craig and I will always have, like, a little flirty something, but no one's, like, asking anyone out on dates or, like, making out in a bar. That is so untrue." She then admitted that she's "had a crush on him for years" and think he's "the cutest" and that they "talk all the time"
On April 19, Addison Rae took to Twitter to shoot down rumors she's dating Jack Harlow. "I'm single," she tweeted. The rumors — which kicked off a few days earlier when the TikTok star reportedly spent time with the rapper in Atlanta — seemingly irked her ex, Bryce Hall. While it's possible he was feeling scorned by someone else, he wrote in a series of tweets on April 18, "I'm about to explode, man. … [Sleeping with] me, telling me you love me, then sneaking around [with] someone else… that f****** hurts." The next day, he added in two tweets, "I feel like such an idiot. … [Bad] days always get worse."
On April 16, Shanna Moakler took to Instagram to confirm suspicions that she and her off-and-on boyfriend of about a year, model-actor Matthew Rondeau, reconciled following a brief split. "He makes me happy," she captioned a shot of Matthew kissing her hand.
On April 17, Bella Thorne's fiancé, Benjamin Mascolo, revealed on Instagram that a month after he popped the question with a massive sparkler, she returned the favor: "She got me an engagement ring," he captioned a slideshow of photos with the singer-actress in Beverly Hills, including a shot of his new bling and a snap of the bride-to-be on bended knee after seemingly popping the question herself.
On April 20, Katie Price announced on Instagram that she and her boyfriend of less than a year, Carl Woods, are engaged. "I said yes!" the British model and reality TV star, formerly known as Jordan, captioned a shot of herself and her beau showing off her new engagement bling. She told OK! Magazine of the proposal, "We'd spoken about it a lot, so I knew he was going to, I just didn't know when. It was amazing."
On April 21, model Carolina Delgado told Page Six that she and "The Real Housewives of Miami" alum Romain Zago — who was previously married to Joanna Krupa — are divorcing after just a year of marriage. "We are soul mates meant to be best friends," she said. "We get [along] way better this way. We see each other every time he is in Miami." (She noted that her estranged husband spends the bulk of his time in Los Angeles.) "Good thing is we are mature enough to realize we want to have each other in our lives without the pressure of the 'marriage' now," she continued. "We are more focused on our careers and manage to have time to spend together whenever we can. … He is such an amazing human being and I will always love him for that!" She also wrote on her Instagram Story that she and Romain developed a "genuine friendship" and eventually realized they were "more friends than a couple" and "decided to stay like that." She added in her post, which Romain shared on his own Instagram Story, "We care deeply about each other, I will always be there for him and vice versa."
During an April 15 Twitch stream, Julien Solomita revealed that he and fellow YouTube star Jenna Marbles are engaged after about eight years of coupledom. "A little while ago, I asked Jenna to marry me and she said yes, so we are engaged," he said, according to Just Jared.
During an April 14 interview with Us Weekly, Candace Cameron Bure revealed that her 21-year-old son, Lev, called off his engagement to Taylor Hutchison. "He's no longer getting married. … It was a mutual decision, so nobody's upset and heartbroken," she said, adding that her son is doing "great" amid the breakup. The "Fuller House" alum announced Lev's engagement in August 2020.
