Viewers have been guessing that the Piglet on The Masked Singer is Nick Lachey since he belted out his first song on night one. However, it seems as though he may have given himself away. The Piglet came on stage his first night and sang "Speechless" by Dan + Shay. His performance swept the panel of judges off their feet, quickly falling in love with his beautiful singing voice.
The former 98 Degrees band members have been some of the judges' favorite celebrities to guess as a potential identity. Over the years, they have consistently been wrong about Lachey being under one of the masks. The judges have been close to guessing Lachey as the Piglet with celebrity predictions such as Adam Lambert, Jordan Knight, Charlie Puth and J.C. Chasez. However, no one has yet to say what is obvious to the viewers.
Fans cannot believe the former boy bander possibly gave away the identity of the Piglet on The Masked Singer. The most telling clue was on Lachey's Instagram page. On Wednesday night, the singer shared a photo of himself with a pig. He captioned the image, "You can’t be the pig, if you’re with the pig #wcw to miss piggy." While Lachey may be denying he is competing on The Masked Singer, he could be trying to throw everyone off his scent. Nonetheless, fans are still certain he is under the Piglet mask. One fan stated in his Instagram comments, "Oh c’mon now, you can’t trick us!" Another said, "Interesting you post this after Piglet performs on The Masked Singer." The photo could also be Lachey's way of having the viewers think the Piglet is him even if it is not.
Since the Piglet sang his first song on the reality competition stage, viewers believed, without a doubt, Lachey is under the mask. Screen Rant's own Masked Singer prediction expert Julie Fallo guessed the Piglet was Lachey before season 5 began airing. Those who were fans of 98 Degrees have been able to spot his infamous voice almost immediately. One of the video clue packages showed 3,528 inches, which Julie figured out converts to 98 yards. Another clue she spotted was Cluedle-Doo's comment about staying cool in the heat, a second hint to Lachey's band 98 Degrees.
Whether or not Lachey is under the Piglet mask, he clearly loves having fun with his fans. The photo was an amusing way to confuse the viewers and have them second-guessing their prediction. However, true 98 Degrees fans are certain Lachey is hiding under that mask, and no one (not even Lachey himself) can tell them otherwise.
The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8pm on FOX.
